Description

This class covers the development and usability issues involved with customizing XML authoring environments using Oxygen s XML Editor. The main focus of the class is understanding how to customize XML authoring environments so that the initial learning curve is minimized for new users without sacrificing the high-end productivity of power users. This balance between ease-of-use and effectiveness can only be achieved by optimizing XML authoring tools according to each installation's specific requirements. Topics include creating short-cuts and file templates for authors, modifying user interface controls, automating editing tasks, implementing workflow rules, and creating derivative documents.

Audience

The primary audience for this course is publications managers, editors or developers tasked with implementing an XML-based authoring environment within their organization. Although not intended to be an in depth technical course, prior knowledge of the basic concepts of XML is required.
